Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Outlanders Hub ("we", "this site") processes when you visit, why we process it, and the choices and rights you have. We keep our data practices deliberately simple: this is a small fan guide, not a data-driven business.
Information we process
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information such as your name, phone number, or postal address. The information that reaches us is limited to what your browser and our service providers send automatically:
- Server logs and IP data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical data — IP address, browser type, referring page, pages requested, and timestamps — for security, troubleshooting, and aggregate traffic measurement.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Small files placed by us or by third parties to keep the site working and to support analytics and advertising. See our Cookie Notice for detail.
- Basic analytics. We use a simple web analytics service (for example Google Analytics 4) to understand which pages are read and how visitors find us. This data is reviewed in aggregate.
Why we process it
- To serve the site reliably and keep it secure.
- To understand which guides are useful so we can improve them.
- To display advertising, which is how this free site is funded.
Third-party advertising
This site is supported by advertising and may use third-party ad networks such as Google AdSense or Ezoic. These networks and their partners may place cookies and similar identifiers on your device to measure ad performance, limit how often you see the same ad, and personalise the ads you see.
You can review and change your ad personalisation preferences at any time. For Google's advertising, this is managed through your Google account's ad settings (often labelled "Ads Settings" or "Ad personalisation"), where personalised advertising can be turned on or off. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, ad partners are expected to obtain consent before using cookies that are not strictly necessary, so you may be asked to make choices through a consent notice.
Legal bases and your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and on legitimate interests for security and basic site operations. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. Because we hold very little personal data, the simplest way to opt out in many cases is to manage or clear cookies in your browser, or to use the ad-settings controls provided by our advertising partners.
Data retention
Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and traffic analysis, then deleted or aggregated. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's settings. Information stored in cookies usually remains on your device until it expires or until you delete it.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International visitors
The site may be served and processed by providers located in other countries. Those providers handle data under their own privacy frameworks and safeguards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or our providers change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.
